Nataliya is a Ukrainian refugee living in Brisbane. She visited Thread Together’s Clothing Hub in Indooroopilly and told them about her situation:
We came from Ukraine after the war started. It takes much courage to leave everything behind and start moving into uncertainty. My kids are my treasures and I just wanted to give them the chance to continue growing up because it wasn’t possible in our country
Thread Together collects end-of-line brand new stock from fashion retailers around the country. With the support of volunteers, the clothes are sorted in readiness to be distributed to people in need through their national network of charities and social service agencies.
Once you are given clothes it becomes your first property. Your first personal property that is all yours and not someone else’s.
Every $5 donated provides a new wardrobe for others like Nataliya.
Since partnering with Thread Together, i=Change has raised over $285,000 and counting.
