I’m 20 years old and waiting to have my first baby. I’m excited. I have six siblings. I’m the first in my family to have a baby. I think I’m having a boy.
I just want to have a healthy baby, like all mothers in my country. My hope is he becomes someone great, like a pilot, so I have to be a good mum, and prepare him for that.
It’s our custom where the family members who are educated to send money back home. So I have to give him all I can, so he can make my family proud.
I’m one of the lucky ones, to give birth in a hospital. Here I feel safe. This is not the case for many mums in my country. Giving birth can be very dangerous. So I have to give my son the best I can because here, he will be born safely.
