Kunthy
is trying to forget
When I was 14, I thought I was going to Thailand to get a job, but a broker took my passport, and I ended up in Xiangxi, China.
I was forced to married a Chinese man. I had not choice. I was physically and sexually abused by the man and his family and also forced to work in a shoe factory. Besides going to work, I could not leave the house at any time.
After nearly 5 years, I met someone who told me how to escape. The police found me and put me in jail for 6 months.
No one came to visit me. I only saw Chinese police. Afterwards I was sent back to Cambodia. My parents thought I had died. I felt re-born when I landed in Phnom Penh, and was reunited with my parents and my sister.
I am hopeful for the future. Hagar is helping train me become a beautician, where I can earn enough money to support my family. After alll I’ve lived through, I will feel very proud if I can achieve this.
