Projects: Help cancer patients
Location: Australia
Look Good Feel Better delivers custom-made Confidence Kits to cancer patient’s homes, empowering them to live as full a life as possible, by providing the tips and tricks to help manage the appearance-related effects of their treatment.
On the 12th of July 2023, we welcomed Look Good Feel Better Australia and General Manager Carol Kavurma, to discuss the challenge of thousands of Australians being diagnosed with cancer each year, how it can be a frightening, isolating experience, and how treatments often have harsh, visible side effects.

Key insights
What does Look Good Feel Better do?Â
Look Good Feel Better provides free workshops, both in-person and virtual, to support cancer patients during their treatment. These workshops cover various topics, including skincare, makeup, headwear styling for women, grooming, and exercise for men. We also offer sessions addressing physical and psychological aspects, such as yoga, meditation, tapping (emotional freedom technique), qigong, and more. Our services are open to all cancer patients undergoing treatment, regardless of cancer type.
What are the some of the unique challenges women face when undergoing cancer treatment?
The sense of isolation is particularly distinct for cancer patients due to the nature of a cancer diagnosis. Even with support from friends, family, and a supportive workplace, the experience remains profoundly isolating. Therefore, by participating in our program, we aim to help these women, in particular, feel less alone.
What are the impacts of the funds raised for Look Good Feel Better through the i=Change platform?Â
The funds have a tremendous impact because we don’t receive any government funding. Our program, entirely free for patients, relies solely on community donations. The $124,000 raised by i=Change businesses is significant for us, considering it costs about $100 to support a patient. Thanks to these funds, we’ve been able to assist approximately 1,240 cancer patients, which is truly remarkable. Support like this is essential for us to continue our work.
Every $50 raised through the project provides one home-delivered Confidence Kit
